Poindexter Prayer Update

March 2010

Dear Prayer Partners,

Much has happened in Liberia since our last prayer letter. The Lord is truly blessing Stephen in many ways as he ministers there. We praise the Lord for the safety and wisdom He has provided in several different areas. This last month Stephen had the opportunity to be a part of the Bible teaching in the village of Voe, a very remote area of the bush. God blessed them with good weather for flying in the helicopter and a warm welcome from the people there. Continue to pray for fruit from the seeds planted in that village.

Following the trip into Voe, Stephen taught a week long Bible course, an Old Testament Survey, in the town of Gbarnga. This was a very exhausting week, but God blessed with good attendance and provided the strength Stephen needed to finish up on Friday. Mr. Don Small, from our sending church in Raleigh, arrived the first week in March and has been a tremendous blessing and help to Stephen. We praise the Lord for his willingness to give of his time to help serve in Liberia on this short-term trip. Stephen and Don have both had several more opportunities to share the gospel in different churches this month. Two Liberian men made decisions to follow the Lord as their Savior! We give God the glory for these decisions.

As Stephen's time in Liberia shortly comes to a close, there are several plans being made for the property and our home in Liberia. The top of the property where our house will be built has been brushed and burnt. The removal of the final tree stumps should be completed this week. Then they will be ready to mark the layout of the foundation and begin digging it. At the same time, a road is being cleared up to the top so that supplies can be brought up to start the footings and the foundation. There has been a little more rain than usual this month so please pray for many good weather days over the next few weeks. A hand dug well has been started on the property as well. We found out this past week, that the possibility of the larger drilled well is still an option. We have been quoted a good price and are waiting to see if the company follows through. We continue to pray that God provides the right timing, price, and available funds for this part of the housing project. Continue to pray with us as the Lord provides more money for our housing project to keep this rolling and to provide the well, house, and solar power to run it.

While in the capital last week Stephen was able to get our resident visas for the whole family and back in North Carolina Veronica was privileged to take Tabitha and Luke for their final shots (with help from Nana)!!! Veronica was ready to trade places with Stephen that day! Once our new baby daughter arrives in early May we will begin the process of getting her paperwork filled out and sent in. It is very exciting to see the Lord working out the small details and final steps before leaving for the field as a family. Our family is anxiously waiting for the end of the month when we will all be together again. Tabitha and Luke are crossing off the days on the calendar until Daddy is home! Thank you not only for your faithful prayers while Stephen is on the field, but also for the family in the states.
